How Niceness Fails Us with Shaniequa Washington - Diversity. Inclusivity. Authentic Community

Inclusivity. Diversity. Niceness. Wisdom. Duality. When it comes to building true community and belonging, what buzzwords are failing us and what is actually moving us forward? Join Gervase on this episode of the It’s All Me podcast as she sits down with her newest friend, Shaniequa L. Washington, and discusses ingrained behaviors that are failing us, how wisdom honors the complexity of community, and what we can do to not only further these much needed, difficult conversations but to also take action to create better communities for ourselves and our children.

Shaniequa is a New York City native, now living in the roots of Gullah Geechee Heritage in Charleston, SC. A self-taught designer and seamstress, her lifelong passion was born from her desire to find a style that highlighted her vibrant personality. Her passion pieces include dusters and kimonos, which she believes to be examples of priestly robes, reminding every queen to wear their crown.
